Inside the Software Factory is an index of how engineering organisations actually build software with AI agents. Each company profile is a teardown: what tools they use, how agents fit into their development lifecycle, what patterns they follow, and how far AI has taken over routine work. The site also documents the recurring patterns that appear across companies—internal MCP gateways, model routers, quality gates, and more.
Each company is placed on a five-level maturity scale, adapted from the AI-SDLC Maturity Model by Sergii Bataiev. The scale scores how far AI's role has advanced across five activities—code generation, testing, code review, documentation, and deployment—not how good any single agent is at one task.
A company's level reflects the most advanced practice that is widely and credibly disclosed, not the average. Placement is capped by disclosure, not capability—a company may operate above its assigned level if it simply hasn't published about it.
